As possibilidades e potencialidades do cicloturismo na região da Quarta Colônia, RS.
Abstract
O cicloturismo é uma atividade de turismo de aventura, realizada com a bicicleta como
meio de transporte e consiste em uma forma de viajar que valoriza o trajeto percorrido.
O objetivo deste trabalho é verificar as possibilidades e potencialidades de
desenvolvimento desta modalidade turística na Região da Quarta Colônia do Rio
Grande do Sul. O estudo tem caráter exploratório, sendo realizado por pesquisa
bibliográfica e aplicação de questionário, com perguntas abertas e fechadas, com
praticantes de ciclismo residentes no município de Santa Maria, identificando o perfil
dos respondentes e procurando compreender as potencialidades e fragilidades
encontradas nas rotas da região. A análise das respostas demonstra que a maioria
dos ciclistas são homens, da faixa etária entre 30 e 39 anos e pedala há menos de
três anos. As necessidades apontadas com maior frequência dizem respeito à
segurança, falta de locais para alimentação e hidratação e escassez de informações
sobre os trechos. A partir do estudo, considera-se que existe potencial para tornar a
região um expoente na prática do cicloturismo porque esta possui atrativos naturais e
culturais de interesse do público praticante da atividade, mas é necessário
investimentos e integração entre os setores envolvidos.
