Medidas de proteção contra a Covid-19: impactos na comunicação de usuários de aparelhos de amplificação sonora individual
Abstract
Objetivo: Investigar o impacto comunicativo e social gerado pela adoção de medidas
protetivas contra a COVID-19 e correlacionar com o grau da perda auditiva e tempo
de uso dos Aparelhos de Amplificação Sonora Individual (AASI) em adultos e idosos.
Métodos: Estudo transversal e quantitativo, do qual participaram 72 indivíduos
atendidos em um programa de saúde auditiva público, com média de 61,6 anos, perda
auditiva bilateral de grau até moderadamente severo, usuários de AASI adaptados
antes da pandemia e que mantiveram uso efetivo. Os sujeitos foram convidados
enquanto aguardavam consulta fonoaudiológica e, após a assinatura do termo de
consentimento, os prontuários foram acessados afim de coletar informações sobre o
perfil audiológico e adaptação/uso dos AASIs. Depois, aplicou-se oralmente, em sala
silenciosa, um protocolo contendo questões objetivas. Os dados foram tabulados e
submetidos aos testes estatísticos Igualdade de Duas Proporções e Qui-Quadrado
(p<0,05). Resultados: Um número significativo de usuários teve a comunicação
impactada pelo uso de máscaras e distanciamento físico, porém não houveram
dificuldades com o uso das tecnologias digitais. O empecilho comunicativo existiu
independente do perfil audiológico e tempo de uso dos dispositivos. Quando
questionados se deixaram de se comunicar e se, de modo geral, as medidas afetaram
a sua vida social, a amostra ficou dividida. Conclusão: As medidas protetivas
afetaram significativamente a comunicação dos usuários de AASI, porém, tais
dificuldades não estão relacionadas com o perfil audiológico e tempo de uso dos
dispositivos. Entretanto, estas medidas não desencorajaram as trocas comunicativas
e as interações sociais de aproximadamente metade da amostra.
