Zumbido crônico: um estudo do seu impacto nas diferentes habilidades cognitivas
Abstract
Introdução: O zumbido é um sintoma otológico prevalente, de fisiopatologia complexa e multifatorial. Sendo assim, torna-se imprescindível uma avaliação cautelosa sobre os aspectos cognitivos, visto que, esses sujeitos possuem queixas de memória e atenção nas suas atividades diárias. Objetivo: Investigar os aspectos cognitivos em sujeitos jovens adultos com zumbido subjetivo crônico. Método: Estudo analítico de coorte, de caráter retrospectivo, quantitativo e transversal, aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, sob o número 56038322100005346. Participaram do estudo 39 sujeitos, distribuídos em dois grupos: indivíduos com zumbido subjetivo crônico(G1) e sujeitos sem o sintoma(G2). Estes foram pareados quanto idade(p=0,651), sexo(p=0,185) e escolaridade(p=0,965); e respeitaram os critérios de inclusão. Todos foram submetidos a anamnese, inspeção visual do Meato Acústico Externo, Audiometria Tonal Liminar, Logoaudiometria, Medidas de Imitância Acústica e Avaliação Cognitiva (NEUPSILIN). A análise de comparação foi realizada entre os grupos, pelo escore total, habilidades cognitivas e posteriormente por tarefas, utilizando o Teste U de Mann-whitney, sendo o nível de significância considerado <0,05(5%). Resultados: Houve diferença estatisticamente significativa entre os grupos quando realizada a análise pelo escore total (p=0,034), observando um pior desempenho nos aspectos cognitivos dos sujeitos com o sintoma. Ainda, a habilidade de praxia e as tarefas de memória verbal episódica-semântica (evocação imediata e tardia) e tarefa construtiva, obtiveram resultados significativos, sendo pior nos indivíduos com zumbido. Conclusão: Os indivíduos com zumbido crônico subjetivo, apresentaram um desempenho cognitivo inferior aos sujeitos sem a percepção do sintoma.
