Influência da inter-relação entre ambiente e criança com síndrome de down no desenvolvimento cognitivo e social

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the influences in the cognitive and social development of the interrelation between the environment and the child with Down syndrome. Through a bibliographical research, books, scientific articles and newspapers were consulted about the researched theme. Publications were considered about the theme referred in the last 20 years, between the periods of 1987 - 2007. In all the analyzed materials, the presence of the family for the child's cognitive and social development with Down syndrome is shown as extremely important because the participation of the family on the stimulation process has significant results in the interaction and in the development of those children, proving that the micro environmental family represents the base in this process.
