Os arquivos municipais e as politicas públicas arquivísticas de cidades da região sul do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

This research sought to investigate the existence of municipal archives in the public administrations of the municipalities of the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul, made up of 21 municipalities. It is of great importance to identify the existence of archival and methods for the adaptation of existing regulations / subsidies / themselves. The general objective of this research was to know the existence of archives and public politics in this region, and the specific objectives were to investigate identify, verify the existence or not of archives as well as analyze all the answers obtained. Regarding the methodology, we used a questionnaire sent by e-mail to all the municipalities of this region, trying to identify who has custody, and what the actions of these administrations regarding their control, more specifically, in a qualitative and quantitative approach. Only twelve municipalities responded to the survey. Through this, it was possible to verify that 60% of the respondent municipalities have a file unit with several nomenclatures and only 40% know the legislation regarding the creation of archives, with only one municipality having an archivist.
