Abstract

Studies on the family and its influence on school learning and development of children have been the target of interest professionals from different areas, especially of the humanities. In this perspective, education has sought to investigate how the developments occurred the institution of family and its role in the formation of the identity of the children, a as this knowledge is very important for the understanding of the causes of learning difficulties, and also for educational intervention. In this in this sense, we will discuss different contributions monograph authors on the following themes: the concept of the family; family and transformations recent; family and the construction of identity; work with the family; complaint school; the role of teachers in school; family and school with regard to schooling and democratic management. We believe that in the current social structure parents need to be in contact with your child's school, because the school and the family can articulate means to cativá them in search of good progress in educational and social life. This study shows some aspects which influence on family involvement in school life and which are very important and positive in the daily life of the individual. This way the school and family can find ways of collectively contribute to the construction of significant for students learning, making them able to withstand challenges encountered in the context that it is inserted.
