A concepção do movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) acerca do trabalho de assistência técnica nos assentamentos da reforma agrária no RS

Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess how the Landless Worker Movement (MST), based on its experience on Technical Assistance, could build up and form its own conception regarding technical assistance in the settlements. A historical review of the experiences done in the first program called Lumiar was performed and shows how the MST managed the profile of the technicians based on both experiences of being a technician with technical expertise and a political agent understanding all the domestic and foreign policy demand of the MST. The methodology used for study of actual conception was based in the interviews with the selected participants who were mostly technical and militant leaders of the various operational units of the Cooperative of Technical Service Assistance (COPTEC). As a final result, we can assure that MST did not have an unanimous position on the unique conception of all the instances of the organizational MST because there are divergences about the political actuation of technicians.
