Abstract

The conduit of information professionals, particularly the archivist is a need for study and discussion on the current political scene, since the Access to Information Act is gradually being implemented in government agencies, leaving analyze the role of the professional in the process transparency of public information. Investigate the conduct of the archivist front of the Law on Access to Information, Law nº 12.527 of November 18, 2011, through the prism of the Code of Ethics of the Archivist of the International Council on Archives, working moral principles to be adopted by the archivist active in public sphere, it is valid to characterize what is expected of their role during exercise professional. The study of the insertion of archival practice in the Access to Information Act and the position of archivist who works in the information also falls in this research, realizing the vision of the role of professional legislation, checking on Access to Information Act, the absence of approach as the work of the archivist and the processing of information in the archives, and stressing the need to create professional advice for oversight and consolidation of the profession of archivist.
