dc.description.abstract | Environmental education only began to be approached by the moment that men started to suf-fer the negative effects of the environment destruction. Because of that, was realized the im-portance of working the subject Environmental Education and for it was constitute the 9.795/99 law which created the National Environmental Education Plan (PNEA). This re-search’s objective was analyzed how the high school teachers from the Trindade do Sul/Rs state school work the Environmental Education theme with your students, and if they work in interdisciplinary way, following the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN’s). Twenty teach-ers were interviewed through a free-question (unstructured) interview. As result, we noticed that teachers have difficulties to give a concept to Environmental Education, since 35 % of them (7 teachers) believe that Environmental Education is working to make your students to become aware of environmental issues. From interviewed teachers, 75 % (15 teachers) have affirmed teaching Environmental Education in their syllabus, but many of them can’t interact with different syllabuses claiming lack of time or difficulties putting the subject in their clas-ses. The interviewed teachers mentioned the existence of three projects (Water, Adolescence and its Everyday and Waste Recycling) in the school, related to the subject, in spite of that, only 45 % (9 teachers) of them are involved in these projects. It stands out, those teachers working in class much more of the theory, forgetting about the importance of practical lessons in the process of knowledge construction, opinion formation and environmental awareness. | eng |
