dc.description.abstract | This research analyzes the conception students' reading of second year who
attend school in a Public School in the town in Sarandi / RS and devise strategies for
working with reading those students. The survey was held with thirty-four students in
2009 and through a questionnaire, we realize that all students perform some kind of
reading, like books, newspapers, magazines, e-mail, demonstrating that they have
contact with the reading as well as their teachers. On the other hand we notice that,
in general, students are characterized by having little skill in reading which leads us
to believe the difficulty in assigning meaning to their reading. They do not understand
what they read is justified in many situations the aversion to reading. Therefore, it is
essential that teachers develop activities that encourage the habit and to acquire the
taste for reading to the students to reach the proficient level in reading and are able
to interact with the text and not just decoding words. Therefore, it is not only the
teacher of Portuguese to solve the problem, but any teacher is responsible for
guaranteeing the full participation of students in literate society, leading to reading as
a refreshing and innovative proposal. To develop since early taste for reading, there
must be participation and the continued presence of the teacher, who must serve as
mediator and be, above all, a reader. | eng |
