O que dizem as produções acadêmicas acerca da família e o diagnóstico clínico de deficiência

Abstract

The present work presented as central theme, the family and the diagnosis of disability. The theme was approached through the bibliographic method in digital source, specifically in the electronic library of the site Scielo. The research problem is presented in such way: What academic productions have been presented about the family and the diagnosis of disability? The general objective aims to know what bring the publications of the electronic library concerning to the diagnosis of disability in the family. As specific objectives it proposes: to identify which publications of this library approach themes about the diagnosis of disability in the family and to present how this theme is mentioned in these publications. As result, the present research obtained information about feelings of anger, denial and guilt experienced by the family when they received the diagnosis of disability, of possible changes in the family routine and the expectation that the relatives present to the professionals involved. It was concluded that the family after overcoming the emotions felt at the time of diagnosis, can establish the union and to support the children in their functional and emotional demands. The mother is always the one who gets the most care, the brothers suffer, but they spontaneously reestablish themselves. The family routine is always changed, the family members have to take on new roles. There is the necessity to improve the qualification of professionals, thus they can assist families in understanding the feelings previously mentioned. More studies are suggested with this approach to enable them to expand their knowledge through a more qualified training, that means, more humanized.
