Percepção ambiental junto ao moradores do entorno do Arroio Tabuão no bairro Esperança em Panambi/RS

Abstract

In this paper, by purpose to investigate the perception of the residents of Tabuão stream surrounding at the Esperança neighborhood in Panambi , Brazil, in relation to the quality of water in the Tabuão stream and its importance as a component of its environment and assessing the level of information interviewed on Environmental Education and its interest in participating in this process, bring to mind the concepts of Environmental Perception, Landscape and Environmental Education. To reach the purpose, bibliographical and documentary researches were realized as well exploratory and field researches to analyze the environment perception of the residents to the stream surrounding and the establish relations with the place where they live. The results allowed conclude that the Environment Perception of residents in the Tabuão stream is practically absent. The constructed image did not arouse the environmental consciousness and did not promote change of behavior. The information level and knowledge about the environment relationships of interdependence is low. The residents do not feel part of the environment in which they live and do not understand the relationship between their behavior and the environment and the socialenvironmental impact generated. The relations of affection and esthetic value with the Tabuão stream are minimal or moderate and rooted in the past, in the memories of how the stream landscape was before negatives changes suffered with the increasing of demographic density of Esperança neighborhood.
