Abstract
As dermatites alérgicas caninas, em especial a atopia, constituem um desafio ao clínico
veterinário, uma vez que são dermatopatias de grande incidência na rotina clínica.
Aliado a isto, nota-se grande dificuldade para fazer o controle do prurido com os
tratamentos disponíveis, com altos índices de recurrência, insatisfação do proprietário e
não alívio dos sintomas no animal. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo revisar os
principais aspectos da atopia bem como as terapias disponíveis.
