Virando latas e colorindo superfícies: projeto de estampas têxteis inspiradas em cães sem raça definida

Abstract

This monograph aims to create a fabric pattern collection inspired by random breed dogs. In the area of Surface Design, the textile segment is chosen for practical development of this research. Among the many possibilities offered by this sector, the product chosen for the application of the prints is the dog bed. Thus, it is possible to address, besides Surface Design, two issues of significant numbers: the abandoned animals on the streets and the growth of the pet market in Brazil. Connected to these themes, are presented works and actions that unite art and design in favor of abandoned animals. Exploring this niche market, it is possible to analyze how Surface Design is worked in this context with different approaches. The practical development of this paper is guided by the methodology of Löbach (2001). Among the proposed phases, the process is realized through panels, photographs, sketches and arrangements. As a result of this study, the “Turning Cans & Coloring Surfaces” collection has five different patterns, applied to the fabric through digital printing. The drawings inspired by photographs of random breed dogs, abandoned or adopted are intended to reflect their characteristics.
