Será que realmente existe isso? Reflexões acerca da bissexualidade e da pansexualidade femininas

Abstract

This paper aims to bring discussions of gender and sexuality from reflections about famale bisexuality and pansexuality, considering its specificities as sexual orientations also claimed as identities. The objective is to tense some stereotypes that arise about these identities by contextualizing and critically analyzing how they are seen both in academic environment and in the daily life of social relations. The research universe is composed of young women familiar with the university context, residing in the city of Santa Maria - RS, from the interlocution in semi-structured individual interviews and also in the realization of a focus group. Referring to female identities is a methodological decision, considering the occurrence of fetishization on bisexual and pansexual women, and that there are specific ways to live their sexuality, according to social markers such as gender identity, race and social class. Note that the historical history of sexuality is limited to binary heterosexuality and homosexuality, so that other sexual orientation is not seen as dignified or just existing fact. Bisexuality and pansexuality are similar orientations to each other, including with regard to the erasure they suffer from both society in general and the LGBTQIAP+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transvestite and transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual and other possible identifications) community itself. One way to overcome this reality is with quality public education as a tool to promote respect for diversity.
