dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, the practice of elaborating structural projects occurs with the aid of computational tools. However, the undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering are mostly restricted to approaches in theoretical conditions, idealized and not very representative of the real challenges encountered in the daily lives of designers. This work, through punctual analyzes in a single-family residence in reinforced concrete modeled in the TQS software, seeks to transmit greater structural sensitivity to beginners in this discipline. It is possible to verify that the simplifications admitted during the course must be revised and deepened for greater efficiency and safety in the dimensioning of buildings. Meanwhile, calculation methods have been refined and allowed new approaches to old problems and will continue to do so in the future, making it imperative for the engineer to keep up to date. However, no matter how technological the software may present itself, it is up to the calculating engineer to know how to interpret their limitations and identify unreal results because, in the end, the processes performed by them are applications of known theories. | eng |
