Abstract

Protection of personal data is a relevant topic in 2022. In recent years there has been a significant increase in personal data leaks in Brazil. This research deals with the analysis of the relationship between the duties of the Archivist and the competences of the processing agents in the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Since it came into force, the LGPD (Law nº 13.709/18) aims to protect the fundamental rights of freedom and privacy, and to regulate any activity (use, collection, storage, sharing) of personal data. In view of this, the LGPD appoints processing agents to be responsible for providing data and information reports to the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). This study presents the results of an analysis involving Law no. treatment. Regarding the methodology, the research has a qualitative approach, and the procedures adopted were bibliographic and documental research. Among the research results, we highlight in our inferences that the Archivist's attributions qualify this professional to meet the competences of a treatment agent provided for in the LGPD.
