dc.description.abstract | This research comes from the Extension Project: Mãos Bilíngues Group, developed in the Education Center, by the Department of Special Education of the Federal University of Santa Maria/UFSM/RS. It also originated from the experience gained in the discipline: Supervised Internship/Deafness, of the Special Education Undergraduate Degree. The pedagogical practice
was carried out at EMEF Aracy Barreto Sacchis during the second semester of 2017. The idea and choice for the theme came from the practice of both the project and the internship, resulting in this Final Course Assignment - FCA. Its main objective is to introduce the Brazilian Sign Language (BSL) - Libras, for hearing children of the initial years of two public schools in Santa
Maria. Regarding the research problem, the question is: are the glosses of children's songs an instrument that facilitates the learning of Libras by hearing children from the initial years of public schools in Santa Maria-RS? As for the methodology, it is a quantitative-qualitative research of a descriptive nature. The research was carried out in two public/ schools (A and B) of Santa Maria - RS. Twenty-three (23) children from school A - from the pre-school level and twenty (20) children from school B - from the first year of elementary education. Five (5) children from each school were involved as subjects of research, totalizing ten (10) participants. At the
end of this research it is noticed that the hearing children who participated in the research aroused interest in learning Libras. The results indicate that music is a possible tool that provides the learning of sign language by hearing children and that auditory memory is one of the resources used in this process to consolidate the long-term learning. In view of this, it is
evident the importance of continuing the learning of Libras, in order to broaden and deepen the visual sign language of the hearing children of these two (2) schools. | eng |

dc.description.resumo | A presente pesquisa é oriunda do Projeto de Extensão: Grupo Mãos Bilíngues, desenvolvido no
Centro de Educação pelo Departamento de Educação Especial da Universidade Federal de
Santa Maria/UFSM/RS.
A ideia e
investigação quanti-qualitativa do tipo descritiva.
Fundamental.
