O que faz um publisher: uma análise a partir da narrativa da série Younger
Abstract
O diploma do curso de Comunicação Social – Produção Editorial da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) possibilita o exercício de diversas profissões, dentre elas a de publisher. Em uma editora do mercado literário, este profissional possui várias funções, as quais o presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal analisar, a partir de sua representação na série televisiva Younger, uma obra ficcional que retrata, de maneira dramatizada, o mercado editorial de Nova York. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa descritivo-exploratória, que emprega o método bibliográfico e o procedimento documental. Com isso, observamos quais são e como funcionam as funções do publisher por meio de exemplos retirados da narrativa da série, que apresenta um mercado editorial com aspectos semelhantes aos da vida real, o que oferece embasamento para a condução da atual pesquisa. Além disso, a análise da série permitiu melhor entendimento de situações que ocorrem no mercado editorial que foram explicadas durante o curso de Produção Editorial.
