A educação ambiental na política de habitação: uma possibilidade de intervenção para o assistente social.

Abstract

This course conclusion paper (TCC) results from the experience of curricular internship in Social Service at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) held in the Municipal Superintendency of Habitation. The internship took place between August 2016 and May 2017, and aims to observe and intervene in the accomplishment of the professional practices in the environment, within the habitation policy, where were use dinstruments of the professional Social Worker: observation, sensitive listening, home visit, individual and group approach, reports, access to the network, among others whose purpose is to promote the importance of Environmental Education in habitation policy, who sought to intervene in the Brenner allotment, part of the Growth Acceleration Program (GAP), part of the municipality's habitation policy. It also addresses the relevance of working together with the network on project actions and knowledge exchange, seeking strategies to mitigate the environmental damages that have occurred in the area, aggravated by the vulnerabilities brought by expressions of social issues, such as poverty, lack of information, prejudice, etc. The project sought to develop incentive actions in conjunction with networks, so that the local population can appropriate environmental awareness, helping to preserve it and the sustainable use of its natural resources. Thus, rescuing the importance of environmental education in new meanings for these social subjects, with which the Social Work works, it is defended a professional position that contributes to their empowerment.
