Efeitos de exercícios físicos sobre a proteína c-reativa em indivíduos com síndrome metabólica
Abstract
FUNDAMENTO: Conhecer os efeitos de um programa de exercícios físicos é uma prioridade em saúde pública e justifica a
emergente preocupação com características morfológicas, inflamatórias e bioquímicas, podendo facilitar o diagnóstico e o
tratamento, bem como a prevenção do conjunto de fatores que estão associados ao risco de desenvolvimento de síndrome
metabólica.
OBJETIVO: Analisar os efeitos de um programa de exercícios físicos sobre a proteína c-reativa em indivíduos com síndrome
metabólica.
METODOLOGIA: A amostra contou com sete indivíduos com diagnóstico de síndrome metabólica que realizaram atividades de
musculação e caminhada três vezes na semana com duração de uma hora e meia cada sessão. Foram submetidos a exames de sangue,
medidas da pressão arterial, peso corporal, circunferência abdominal, estatura e testes de força e de resistência cardiovascular no
formato de pré e pós-testes referente ao período de 12 semanas de intervenção.
RESULTADOS: Os indivíduos obtiveram treinamento verificado por melhoras no consumo máximo de oxigênio (30,8 ± 13,24 vs.
35,5 ± 9,95 ml/kg/min., p = 0,042) e força de membros inferiores observadas pelo 1-RM no aparelho de musculação extensor do
joelho (40,48 ± 15,7 vs. 49,24 ± 18,3 Kg, p = 0,01). O LDL foi a única das demais variáveis que apresentou mudanças significativas
(184,56 ± 67,18 vs. 151,72 ± 41,32), enquanto a PCR também apresentou modificações, mas não estatisticamente significantes
(4,7067 ± 4,52 vs. 0,7683 ± 0,6081 p= 0,083).
CONCLUSÃO: A prática de exercícios físicos ocasionou diminuição nos níveis de PCR e LDL colesterol, contribuindo para um melhor controle da síndrome metabólica.
