Tecnologias de informação e comunicação e suas implicações para o exercício da nova cidadania
Abstract
Este trabalho busca analisar as implicações que as novas tecnologias de informação
e comunicação causam na sociedade contemporânea. Por meio de um enfoque
sociopolítico, ressaltam-se a emergência do ciberespaço e a penetrabilidade do
mesmo em todos os domínios de atividade humana. Nesse sentido, através do
conceito pós-moderno de nova cidadania, evidenciam-se as novas formas de
participação ampliada dos cidadãos, uma vez que o uso e a apropriação consciente
e reflexiva pelos mesmos das novas tecnologias, oferecem uma infinidade de
possibilidades de intervenção e de produção de informação por todos os usuários.
Por conta disso, a educação adentra com a finalidade e a função de democratizar as
TIC(s) para a população, formando cidadãos com capacidade de reflexão sobre a
utilização consciente das mesmas. O trabalho está dividido em três capítulos que
tratam respectivamente da emergência da sociedade informacional; das novas
tecnologias e sua relação com o exercício da nova cidadania; e das TIC(s) no
processo educacional. Por fim, evidencia-se que cabe à educação desenvolver
habilidades positivas de cibercultura, para que o cidadão saiba utilizar as novas
tecnologias em todo o seu potencial exercendo a nova cidadania através de espaços
virtuais de participação ampliados.
