Educação ambiental no meio rural: estudo das práticas ambientais da Escola Dario Vitorino Chagas – comunidade rural do Umbu - Cacequi/RS

Abstract

The present research paper aims at approaching to the educational knowledge on the Environmental Education which is related with the School teachers' pedagogic practices from Dario Vitorino Chagas. The school is placed in the rural area of Cacequi – RS, more precisely in the District of Umbu distant 22 Km of the council of the municipal district. It was used questionnaires and semi-directing interviews as method and data collection. The research found out that the teachers that act at that school, because it is rural school, suffer with the lack of pedagogic instruments as well as of training courses and specific improvement in the theme of the Environmental Education. However, they demonstrate to be conscious of the need and importance of developing a good work in that area so that they have been searching for updated information for a long time, therefore capable to develop such knowledge in classroom. In this direction, the School stimulates the interest and promotes their teachers and community’s knowledge generally supporting with either restricted or open courses and lectures to the people of the location, in the attempt of contributing not only with their teachers' professional qualification, but mainly to promote the improvement of the life quality of this rural community.
