A importância da implantação de arquivos públicos municipais: estudo de caso da prefeitura municipal de Dilermando de Aguiar (RS)

Abstract

This research sought, through a study carried out at the Municipality of Dilermando de Aguiar, to verify which aspects can motivate the implantation of municipal public archives. To develop this work it was necessary to achieve four specific objectives: To know the vision of the municipal executive regarding the subject of municipal public archives; To recognize the conditions of preservation of the existing archive in the Municipality of Dilermando de Aguiar; List archival demands that favor the implementation of a public archive for the municipality and, together with the third objective, in a simple and objective way, list the obstacles that can be expected and suggest means to overcome them. The research is applied, qualitative and configures itself as a case study. To collect the data in order to construct this work a structured interview and systematic observations were made. The analysis of the results was divided into three parts: the first presented the perception of the representative of the executive branch regarding the municipal archives, as well as sought through an interview with this to identify how is the documentation produced and guarded there; The second showed in detail the conditions of preservation of the existing archive in the city hall, which stores the documentation of secondary value: And the third, demonstrates the necessary archival demands that may influence the implementation of a formally established municipal public archive, as well as, reports the obstacles to the construction of the same. With this research one can conclude that with the lack of trained professionals and an adequate environment to receive the documents, the archive of the Municipality of Dilermando de Aguiar does not receive a coherent archival treatment. However, it was achieved through the punctuated demands to motivate the creation of a public archive for the county. There is a long way to go, but this has already begun from the moment when the interest of the municipal executive in seeing this situation was noticed.
