dc.description.abstract | The present monograph has as its theme a study on how the colors blue and yellow, exposed in the visuality of the series Heartstopper (2022), bring meaning to this audiovisual narrative. The general objective of the work is to present an analysis of the colors yellow and blue, seeking to understand the importance of having been chosen for the color palette of the series,
how they interfere in the development of the narrative and in the construction of the characters; and specific objectives to understand how these colors are used, for what purposes and to seek to capture the synesthesia and meanings that the colors blue and yellow present in
the scene, both isolated and when they are presented together. This monograph covers, mainly, the concepts before the physical and psychological aspects of the colors of the authors Farina, Perez and Bastos (2006), Guimarães (2002), Heller (2013) and Haller (2022). The authors Fraser and Banks (2007) were cited to complement the topics on color in the
construction of a film, as well as in the brief contextualization of cinema in color. To understand the look of a cinematographic work and who are responsible for it, LoBrutto's concepts (2002) were used. As for studies on scene and character composition, they were discussed through the research of Edgar-Hunt, Marland and Rawle (2013); and studies on light and light temperature in cinema, through Jesus and Cé (2019). As a methodology, it
relied mainly on film analysis to study the scenography of the Heartstopper series. In short, after analyzing 23 scenes from the series, it was possible to understand how colors are powerful tools for an audiovisual product as they are in our lives. Colors communicate, they have meaning and express information to whoever sees them. | eng |
