Prevalência dos casos de lama biliar em cães atendidos no período de março de 2022 a novembro de 2023 no Hospital Universitário Veterinário de Santa Maria
Abstract
A lama biliar é considerada um achado incidental em cães idosos comumente
diagnosticada em cães na rotina clínica por meio da ultrassonografia abdominal. O
objetivo desse estudo foi estimar a prevalência das diferentes raças, idades e os
principais sinais clínicos relatados. Setenta e nove laudos foram avaliados e 50,6%
apresentaram lama biliar, destes 32,91% apresentaram hepatomegalia e 18,98%
apresentaram esplenomegalia. Os sinais clínicos envolvendo o sistema
gastrointestinal obtiveram maior destaque, salientando vômitos (27,5%), hiporexia
(22,5%) e diarreia (17,5%). Cães sem raça definida tiveram maior prevalência
(37,5%). Alguns resultados corroboram com a literatura e outros merecem mais
pesquisas prospectivas. Os resultados demonstraram que a prevalência de lama biliar
é elevada principalmente em cães de meia idade a idosos. Há correlação positiva com
hepatomegalia, esplenomagalia e lama biliar. Concluiu-se que a formação de lama foi
associada a pacientes idosos com idade >10 anos, mas que pode ocorrer em qualquer
idade e não é influenciada por sexo.
