Culpa do sistema versus responsabilidade pessoal na prestação de cuidados de saúde
Abstract
Pacientes da saúde estão sujeitos a eventos adversos decorrentes de falhas em instituições hospitalares do mundo todo. Uma estratégia para aperfeiçoar os processos de cuidado é criar um sistema seguro, com processos e estrutura adequados e treinamentos constantes. Porém, se o sistema possui isso e o erro ocorre, a culpa pode não estar na falta de segurança do sistema. Este artigo objetiva explorar a culpa do sistema versus a responsabilidade dos prestadores/cuidadores em relação aos eventos adversos na saúde. A metodologia do estudo é revisão de literatura, mostrando diferenças de abordagens para um mesmo problema. A partir dos estudos analisados foi identificada a categoria temática Segurança do Paciente, que estrutura a forma de lidar com o erro em duas abordagens: centrada na pessoa e sistêmica. O misto das abordagens seria o ideal, encontrando um ponto de equilíbrio na responsabilização.
