O acesso às tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TICs) entre os jovens rurais de Westfália - RS
Abstract
Neste trabalho, investigamos o acesso às tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TICs) no âmbito rural e sua influência na educação escolar e formação profissional de jovens da zona rural do município de Westfália, Rio Grande do Sul. Localizado na região do Vale do Taquari, o município destaca-se economicamente pela produção primária e desenvolve um projeto de inclusão digital do meio rural. Como procedimentos metodológicos, adotamos a pesquisa qualitativa exploratória descritiva, revisão bibliográfica, entrevista e observação participante. Com base em entrevistas realizadas com 26 jovens com idades entre 18 e 28 anos, residentes da zona rural de Westfália, analisamos a relação deste grupo com a Internet. Os principais conceitos que amparam esta pesquisa são juventude rural (REDIN ET AL., 2013; SCHWARTZ, 2012), comunicação rural (BORDENAVE, 1988) e tecnologias de informação e comunicação (SILVEIRA, 2003; VIERO, 2009; SCHWARTZ, 2007; CABRERA, 2012; GUIMARÃES, 2014). Entre os resultados, verificamos que as potencialidades da rede, enquanto ambiente de formação, começam a ser utilizadas pelos jovens rurais a partir da disponibilidade de acesso nas residências, como meio de educação formal e não formal. No entanto, verificamos que, especialmente os agricultores, não reconhecem ainda na Internet um espaço de qualificação profissional.
