A fé como alicerce: levantamento dos templos religiosos da quarta colônia de imigração italiana
Abstract
O presente trabalho tem como foco a região da ex-Quarta
Colônia de Imigração Italiana (1877-1882), matriz de importante núcleo
de povoamento na região central do Rio Grande do Sul, hoje constituída
por oito municípios. A sua história foi marcada, desde o início, por forte
religiosidade católica, que deixou herança na região, perceptível até hoje
nos inúmeros templos, capelas e capitéis. O trabalho tem como objetivo
historiar essa imigração, sua religiosidade, e o estabelecimento da
Igreja, através da primeira missão religiosa estabelecida na região: a
Missão dos Padres Palotinos, no núcleo do Vale Vêneto, em 1886. Foi
feito um levantamento dos diversos estabelecimentos religiosos
católicos – paróquias e capelas – tendo em vista a intensa religiosidade
existente na região.
