Integrando novas funções ao software Medusa de análise gênica em vias Ontocancro no estudo do câncer
Abstract
Visando contribuir com as pesquisas no estudo do câncer o projeto
Ontocancro, da área de bioinformática, reuniu informações relativas a genes
envolvidos no processo carcinogênico, dos bancos de dados de genes NCI-Nature,
BioCarta, KEGG, Reactome, Prosite, GO e STRING. Sendo assim a base de dados
do projeto é constantemente acessada por pesquisadores da área. Este trabalho
tem como objetivo programar uma ferramenta que facilite a busca destas
informações no banco de dados do projeto, de modo que demande menos tempo ao
pesquisador localizando as informações. Outra ferramenta muito utilizada pelos
profissionais desta área é o software de código aberto Medusa, usado para
visualizar as redes de interação de proteínas, a partir de dados obtidos pelos
cientistas. A ferramenta gera um grafo que mostra as interações entre as proteínas,
além de outras informações sobre cada proteína da rede. Por isso este trabalho visa
programar novos procedimentos a esta ferramenta, integrando ela à base de dados
do Ontocancro, agregando assim novas funções que facilitam ainda mais a busca e
identificação das vias envolvidas nas amostras.
