“Um dos mais fecundos movimentos de nossa vida como nação civilizada”: identidade e memória da semana de arte moderna nas páginas do Jornal do Brasil (1972)
Abstract
Esta monografia tem como tema as publicações a posteriori a respeito da Semana de Arte
Moderna no Jornal do Brasil. Busca-se compreender, a partir do conceito de identidade cultural,
de que modo o Jornal do Brasil abordou as comemorações da Semana de Arte Moderna dando
ênfase nas comemorações de 50 anos, período em que o país se encontra sob um governo militar.
Com base nos conceitos de construção da identidade propostos por Stuart Hall e o conceito de
memória coletiva apresentado por Paul Connerton procura-se, a partir da análise documental,
verificar se as estratégias discursivas adotadas pelo jornal corroboram para uma produção de
sentido a respeito da “nação” em torno do acontecimento.
