A influência de um programa de exercícios com bola suíça sobre a flexibilidade de escolares
Abstract
Resumo: A flexibilidade é uma das características de manutenção da postura e do movimento humano. A infância e a adolescência são períodos do desenvolvimento corporal em que há maior capacidade para adquirir e manter níveis de mobilidade elevados. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a influência da flexibilidade de escolares após um programa de exercícios com bola suíça. Foi realizado estudo piloto com 12 escolares, em uma instituição filantrópica na cidade de Santa Maria/RS, com a intenção de aplicar a proposta metodológica e conhecer o ambiente de realização da pesquisa. Avaliou-se o índice de massa corporal, a presença de dor e os testes de flexibilidade. Os escolares foram submetidos, semanalmente, a dez sessões de exercícios com bola suíça, durante três meses. Com base na metodologia utilizada no estudo piloto, realizou-se estudo clínico randomizado cego com 45 escolares, de ambos os gêneros, de 07 a 12 anos, que foram divididos em grupo intervenção e grupo controle. Os resultados mostram que os exercícios com bola suíça aumentaram significativamente a flexibilidade para alguns testes. Em relação ao gênero dos escolares, o desempenho foi diferente para cada teste. Quanto à queixa de dor, verificou-se que não diminuiu o sintoma, mas reduziu a sua intensidade. As práticas de exercícios com bola suíça propiciaram melhora da flexibilidade e socialização do grupo. Percebe-se a necessidade de mais estudos, especialmente com relação à flexibilidade e à mobilidade corporal, a fim de desenvolver estratégias eficazes de Fisioterapia na saúde dos escolares.
