O programa saúde na escola em Santa Maria, RS: sob o olhar de quem ensina
Abstract
O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a participação e a percepção de um grupo de profissionais da educação envolvidos no Programa Saúde na Escola (PSE), vinculado a equipes de Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF), no município de Santa Maria/RS. Este trabalho caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa descritiva na qual 50 professores foram indagados por meio de questionário fechado. Os dados foram tratados sob a estatística descritiva e distribuídos em tabelas e gráficos. Os resultados demonstraram que a maioria dos docentes pertenciam ao sexo feminino (47%). A maioria das escolas estavam localizadas na zona urbana (88%) e destinavam um período semanal para o planejamento das ações do PSE. O financiamento e os recursos materiais foram considerados regulares/ótimos (31% – 50%); as capacitações e treinamentos, boas/ótimas e suficientes (82,7% – 73,9%); a estrutura física, boa/ótima (72%); e, onde havia residentes do PRMISPS (59,1%), as atividades do PSE eram mais frequentes. As ações foram planejadas e desenvolvidas junto aos profissionais da saúde, mas o projeto político-pedagógico, não. Os alunos eram consultados sobre as temáticas de saúde abordadas e participavam ativamente das ações; entretanto, os pais ou responsáveis, não. O ensino nas escolas municipais de Santa Maria/RS é majoritariamente voltado à educação infantil e ao ensino fundamental. Os principais problemas para a realização das ações foram: falta de recursos financeiros e humanos e da contrarreferência. Conclui-se que, na visão dos profissionais de educação, o PSE desenvolve-se de forma satisfatória em Santa Maria/RS; porém, faz-se necessário mudanças, incentivos, comprometimento e inovação para que possa ser mais efetivo.
