Educação ambiental como estratégia de prevenção à dengue nas comunidades rurais de Mata Grande e São Rafael, município de São Sepé – RS

Abstract

This paper presents an environmental education program conducted with 24 people from Mata Grande and 13 people from São Rafael at São Sepé Municipality, Rio Grande do Sul. We conducted a questionnaire to verify the understanding at Dengue infection and about reservoir in their residences. From the response of the questionnaires was conducted a lecture to clarify the doubts about the disease and care about the environment in order it does not become a breeding ground for proliferation of Aedes aegypti and the consequent spread of disease. The results of the study showed that it is necessary an educational work in rural communities, since there are many illiterate people who need information about quality of life in rural areas.
