Fonoaudiologia: uma abordagem pública
Abstract
Este trabalho se configura como uma revisão de literatura que tem como objetivo
discorrer sobre o processo de construção da Fonoaudiologia na Saúde Pública.
Dentro desta proposta, um dos tópicos abordados trata do histórico da
Fonoaudiologia como ciência no Brasil e em Santa Maria, bem como o histórico da
Saúde Pública e do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) no Brasil. O trabalho também
expõe as diferentes fases e níveis de prevenção à saúde, seja ela primária,
secundária ou terciária, procurando mostrar como a Fonoaudiologia pode se inserir
em cada um desses níveis. O papel dos Ambulatórios de Fonoaudiologia nas
Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS), as quais configuram-se como a porta de entrada
do sistema de saúde pública, é também relatado, enfatizando as áreas de atuação
do fonoaudiólogo através da descrição de programas que podem ser beneficiados
com ações fonoaudiológicas efetivas. Por fim, ressalta-se a relação do
fonoaudiólogo com a estratégia do Programa Saúde da Família (PSF) como um
novo modelo de atenção à saúde, imprimindo uma nova dinâmica de atuação e de
relacionamento entre os serviços de saúde e a população.
