Polícia comunitária: estudo dos programas e ações para a aproximação da brigada militar com a comunidade

Abstract

This monograph has as its theme the police-community relationship in the context of the Gaucho Military Brigade. From this, we propose to answer the following problem: in what way do the community police programs and actions help in the rapprochement / police-community relationship? We have as general objective to analyze the programs and the actions that the community police of the Military Brigade uses for integration with the community; And as specific objectives, to understand the concept of community from a community police perspective, to point out the actions and programs of the community police and to know the community of the 20th Military Police Battalion. For the preparation of this study, the techniques used were bibliographic research, non-participant observation and semi-structured interview. Non-participant observation was carried out in order to understand the community context of both the police and the community; And semi-structured interviews were directed to neighborhood community leaders and community policing officers. The information collected served to develop the analysis of the police-community relationship. Thus, from the investigations and analyzes, we realize that the practice of the Community Police philosophy interferes directly and positively in the relationships, bringing the police closer to the community, as well as demystifying the truculent and violent image of the military police of the Military Brigade.
