Família: desafios e contribuições no desenvolvimento e aprendizagem escolar do deficiente intelectual em um município da região central do RS

Abstract

This study has as central theme: the challenges and contributions in the school development and learning of the person with intellectual disability – DI in a municipality of the central region of RS, through familiar narratives of these subjects. The interest by the thematic concerns and was thought by reason of the author of this study had trained in a special institution of the city, in the period from 2015 to 2017. This way, there is the problem of research that seeks to know: What is the importance of the family in the development and learning of DI, from the beginning of the schooling until the adult age, in a municipality of the central region of RS? The questions of investigation of this research are founded in the relationship of the special family with the learning and the development of the DI. In relation to the methodology, it is a descriptive research of qualitative approach. The instrument used was the interview that was recorded and subsequently transcribed. The interviews were performed with three subjects. To answer the problematic we have as main objective to know the challenges and contributions of the family in the process of development and learning, from the beginning of schooling until the adult age, of students with DI. This way, we conclude that the family has a very important role both in the development and the learning of the children. Those ones that participated in this study, in a general way, bring in their narratives that participated and continue to participate of the processes – school learning and development - of the DI. And this constant participation for some of them ended to result in overprotection and lack of independence to perform activities of autonomous life.
