Abstract

The Access to Information Act brings citizens with an opportunity to oversee the administrative acts, symbolizing a landmark of political democratization to approach the administrator citizen. This article aims to determine the degree of citizens' knowledge concerning the law of the right to information, and whether it has been applied by the Municipal Public Administration in the city of Horizontina. The study is descriptive qualitative approach. It was identified that the municipality is adapting to this new law, creating the Protocol System and Ombudsman and a new website of City Hall, to meet the city citizens with quality and speed. Noted that actually the Access to Information Act is not aware of all citizens. Even though it was released, it is still not clear the interpretive point of view even within the public sector, revealing that the servers are still unprepared to apply it.
