Tratamento restaurador atraumático: um relato de experiência
Abstract
O Tratamento Restaurador Atraumático (ART) foi desenvolvido em resposta à necessidade de tratamento dentário restaurador em comunidades onde se havia dificuldade de acesso e pela ausência de energia elétrica, fundamental para acionar os motores odontológicos tradicionais. Caracteriza-se por ser uma abordagem alternativa no controle de cárie dentária, sendo de simples execução, baixo custo e menos traumática, por dispensar o uso de anestesia local. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo relatar a vivência de um residente de odontologia do Programa de Residência Multiprofissional Integrada em Saúde da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, realizando a técnica de ART, através do Programa Saúde na Escola, em alunos de uma escola de ensino fundamental do município, buscando ainda verificar a durabilidade das restaurações e expor as dificuldades e potencialidades apresentadas. A amostra foi composta por alunos de pré a quinto ano, participando de ações de levantamento epidemiológico, orientação de higiene bucal e escovação dental supervisionada, além do ART, durante o ano letivo de 2019. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que, quando indicada corretamente, a técnica apresenta restaurações com alto percentual de sucesso clínico, sendo necessária uma maior valorização do procedimento, principalmente se considerando o contexto da saúde pública.
