Quilotórax secundário à ruptura do ducto torácico em um cão
Abstract
O quilotórax é uma condição incomum em cães e potencialmente fatal, na qual ocorre o extravasamento de quilo para o espaço pleural, ocasionando comprometimento respiratório, metabólico e, em alguns casos, pleurite fibrosante. Os sinais clínicos mais observados incluem tosse, dispneia, abafamento da ausculta cardiopulmonar, apatia, emagrecimento progressivo e intolerância ao exercício. O diagnóstico se baseia na apresentação clínica, análise citológica e bioquímica da efusão pleural e pela radiografia torácica. O tratamento consiste primariamente na intervenção cirúrgica através da ligadura do ducto torácico em associação à uma ou mais técnicas, como a pericardiectomia, ablação da cisterna do quilo e omentalização transdiafragmática. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de relatar o caso de um cão diagnosticado com quilotórax secundário à ruptura do ducto torácico através da técnica de linfangiografia e submetido à ligadura do ducto torácico seguido pela omentalização transdiafragmática. O animal apresentou evolução clínica positiva e os exames pós-cirúrgicos de imagem comprovaram que a técnica cirúrgica utilizada foi eficiente.
