Hidroterapia em nadadores da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria
Abstract
Este estudo teve o intuito de verificar se a hidroterapia com ênfase em exercícios aquáticos previne e trata dores/desconfortos e lesões musculoesqueléticas em membros superiores, em particular o ombro de praticantes de natação. Verificou-se a ocorrência de dores juntamente com um programa de hidroterapia com exercícios aquáticos direcionados ao ombro do nadador. Foram analisados 10 indivíduos da cidade de Santa Maria, de ambos os sexos, os quais foram divididos em dois grupos: experimental, formado pelos nadadores da equipe de natação da UFSM e controle com os alunos do condicionamento físico, sendo cinco nadadores em cada grupo. Para verificação dos resultados, foi utilizada como instrumento de pesquisa uma ficha de avaliação fisioterapêutica contendo avaliação postural, testes funcionais para ombro, e escala numérica de dor, antes e após a hidroterapia. Na comparação dos dados foi utilizado o teste t de Student com nível de significância p<0,05. As sessões foram oferecidas 2 vezes por semana, totalizando 14 encontros, tendo duração de 30 minutos. Foram utilizadas algumas condutas como: aquecimento, alongamento, mobilizações passivas e ativas, fortalecimento, padrões de Bad Ragaz, relaxamento muscular, massoterapia manual ou com jatos d’água e exercícios respiratórios. Os resultados indicaram que não houve diferença significativa para a presença de dor entre os grupos estudados. Porém o grupo que realizou a hidroterapia obteve melhora na sensação subjetiva de dor. Quanto aos testes funcionais para ombro, o grupo controle apresentou resultados positivos, indicando maior probabilidade de lesão nos ombros do que no experimental, que realizou a hidroterapia.
