Angiodisplasia de cólon em um cão
Abstract
A angiodisplasia de cólon é uma alteração caracterizada pela presença de anomalias
vasculares na mucosa intestinal. É uma condição rara em cães, com patogênese ainda não
elucidada. O diagnóstico é feito a partir da visualização de padrão vascular alterado na mucosa
do cólon, através de colonoscopia. As opções terapêuticas incluem coagulação com plasma de
argônio, ressecção cirúrgica das áreas afetadas, e tratamento medicamentoso. Este trabalho tem
por objetivo relatar o caso de um canino, macho, 13 anos, castrado, apresentando hematoquezia
intermitente há 3 anos, diagnosticado com angiodisplasia colônica. Após início da terapia
hormonal com Estriol, o quadro de hematoquezia foi controlado e nenhum efeito colateral ao
tratamento foi percebido durante o período em que o paciente foi acompanhado.
