Visões do rádio: o local e o nacional nas emissoras radiofônicas (1937-45)
Abstract
O projeto político implantado durante o Estado Novo buscou consolidar uma
identidade nacional baseada na unidade cultural e territorial. Para alcançar
esse objetivo o governo utilizou-se dos meios de comunicação de massa, entre
eles o rádio, que, por sua vez, também foi alvo da política nacionalizante de
Vargas. Em face da elaboração de um padrão nacional para o veículo, bem
como da sua orientação local, buscamos estudar a programação de quatro
emissoras localizadas em região de fronteira do Brasil Meridional tentando
verificar a veiculação de conteúdos de caráter nacional e de caráter local na
programação dessas emissoras e de suas possíveis identidades. Para isso,
nos utilizamos de bibliografia que abordasse alguns conceitos como nação e
identidade nacional, além de estudos sobre radiodifusão. Jornais com a
programação e crônicas sobre as emissoras e entrevistas com antigos
profissionais da radiodifusão também nos serviram de fontes. A partir dos
resultados concluímos que a existência e o predomínio de um padrão nacional
na programação das emissoras fronteiriças foi intenso, sendo possível notar a
veiculação de mensagens com forte conteúdo de brasilidade, que a presença
significativa de conteúdo local, não necessariamente representava a cultura e a
identidade local/regional e, por fim, como conseqüência dos fatores anteriores,
constatamos o abandono e o esquecimento de expressões artísticas e culturais
genuinamente regionais durante a onda nacionalista.
