Preservação ambiental e qualidade de vida em comunidades quilombolas
Abstract
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral aprofundar o conhecimento a
respeito da realidade da comunidade quilombola Passo do Maia, localizada no
município de Formigueiro, região central do Rio Grande do Sul, verificando seus
êxitos e suas necessidades, com vistas a sensibilizar a comunidade quanto à
importância da preservação ambiental, bem como sua correlação com a saúde e a
qualidade de vida dos moradores. A fim de viabilizar ações de educação ambiental,
foi efetuado um mapeamento das condições ambientais da comunidade, através de
entrevista por questionário composto de questões semi-estruturadas, através do
qual se constatou que atualmente a comunidade é formada por 55 moradores,
sendo que apenas 17 deles exercem atividades remuneradas, destes, apenas 04
atuam na economia formal, possuem vínculo empregatício e renda garantida.
Quanto à questão salarial, apenas duas das famílias entrevistadas possuem renda
de 3 salários mínimos, uma família conta com 2 salários mínimos, oito das famílias
sobrevivem com 1 salário mínimo e três delas possuem renda inferior a um salário
mínimo. Apesar da baixa renda familiar, apenas 06 das 14 famílias entrevistadas são
assistidas por programas sociais, sendo todas elas, pelo bolsa família. A grande
maioria dos adultos desta comunidade possui o ensino fundamental incompleto,
alguns são analfabetos e apenas um dos entrevistados possui o ensino médio
incompleto. Os resultados apontaram que as noções de meio ambiente, degradação
ambiental e práticas ecologicamente adequadas são bastante rudimentares.
