dc.description.abstract | This experimental project aimed to explore and disseminate thrift store culture as a tool for raising awareness and disseminating knowledge about circular fashion and stimulating discussions about adherence to the practice of sustainable consumption in the city of Santa Maria, RS. The methodology adopted was based on the creation of specific content for the Instagram platform, highlighting the production of information related to fashion and circular economy, as well as the elaboration of a thrift store map in the locality. The theoretical foundation of the work we used essential concepts related to circular fashion, based on the authors McRobbie (2005), Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Kim, Jung and Lee (2021), Lipovetsky (1989), Hall (1968), Blackman (2005), Sull and Turconi (2008), and Tórtaro (2017). Organizational communication was approached based on the contributions of Kunsch (2014) and Baldissera (2009), while issues of social networks and interactivity were discussed in the light of Correa (2005 apud Terra, 2006), Amaral (2016), Blumer (1980 apud Amaral, 2016), Recuero (2009 apud Amaral, 2006), Ferreira and Chiareto (2021), Jenkins (2008), Terra (2006), and Georgieva A and Djoukanova A (2014). The analysis of metrics and social impact was adopted as an instrument for measuring the project, evaluating performance on social networks. By connecting theory and practice, the experiment highlighted the relevance of integrating academic studies and community service. Communication, in this context, emerges as a valuable tool for engaging the public, disseminating pertinent information and promoting positive changes. In the end, through experimentation, a means was established for the community to take the first steps in adopting sustainable fashion practices, positively impacting thrift store culture and encouraging more conscious behaviors. | eng |
