Comparação da composição corporal avaliada por absorciometria com dupla emissão de raio-x de idosas diabéticas e não diabéticas
Abstract
Dentre as doenças crônicas não transmissíveis (DCNT), o diabetes mellitus (DM) representa grave problema de saúde pública, com aumento do risco para doenças cardiovasculares e altas taxas de mortalidade principalmente em idosos. Ao envelhecer o corpo sofre mudanças fisiológicas multidimensionais, dentre elas, o aumento dos depósitos de gordura corporal, com consequente risco para o sobrepeso e obesidade. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar se há diferenças na composição corporal de idosas diabéticas e não diabéticas submetidas à avaliação da composição corporal pelo método Absorptiometry with x- ray dual emission energy (DXA) (absorciometria com dupla emissão de raios-X). As participantes responderam formulário estruturado com dados sociodemográficos (idade, escolaridade e ocupação). Posteriormente foram coletados e avaliados dados antropométricos das participantes (peso e estatura) para o cálculo do IMC e analisada a composição corporal por DXA. Os resultados demonstraram que o IMC foi significativamente maior (p=0,001) nas diabéticas (29,84 ±4,84Kg/m2) quando comparado ao IMC das não diabéticas (27,16%±4,78Kg/m2). As idosas diabéticas também tiveram significativamente maior percentual de tecido gordo dos braços (p=0,003), androide (p=0,044) e total (p=0,028), sendo os valores médios encontrados de percentuais das diabéticas e não diabéticas, respectivamente, de gordura dos braços 40,02±8,64% e 35,58%±9,27,%, gordura androide 49,82±8,41% e 46,52%±10,43% e de gordura total 43,47±7,71% e 40,56±8,25%. Não houve diferença significativa entre os percentuais de tecido gordo das pernas e da região ginecoide. Conclui-se que as idosas diabéticas tem média maior de IMC e maior tecido gordo nas regiões dos braços, androide e total em comparação às idosas não diabéticas.
